Sinomach subsidiary finishes first phase of Ugandan project

The Uganda-China (Guangdong) Free Zone of International Industry Cooperation, designed by China Heavy Machinery Research Co, a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Co, has recently started its first phase of operations following 5 months of construction.
With a planned investment of $620 million, the zone represents China's largest investment into a Ugandan project to date.
The first phase of the project includes construction of a stope, a mineral processing plant with expected annual output of 1 million tons, a phosphate fertilizer plant with annual output of 100,000 tons, and office buildings. Two more phases of development are planned for the industrial zone.
